Seven Hypnosis Myths Answered

“YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE
WHO CAN UNLOCK
YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL
& HYPNOSIS IS THE KEY.”
― Juliet C. Obodo

Hypnosis Myth #1: It’s Possible to get stuck in hypnosis

There is no way for anyone to get stuck in a hypnotic state. You always have complete control over your experience. Some people may choose to remain in trance longer than necessary, especially when they reach the Coma state. This is because they find the sensation very pleasant and relaxing. We call these people “Hypno-Enthusiasts”. You will come out of your trance alert and refreshed.

Hypnosis Myth #2: Hypnosis can make me do something I wouldn’t normally do

You are always conscious of every suggestion given while in hypnosis, and you have the power to accept or reject it. It is entirely up to you. To accept a suggestion, you must have the attitude, “I like that suggestion. I know it will work for me!”

Hypnosis Myth #3: hypnosis is the same as sleep

Although you enter a trance-like state before falling asleep, and when waking up, sleep itself is a different state. It is very important to stay awake during hypnosis if you want it to work.

Hypnosis Myth #4: I Will reveal all of my secrets while in a trance

You are even more mentally alert, aware and in control while in a state of hypnosis. You can conceal things, lie and tell the Hypnotist that you don’t want to answer.

Hypnosis Myth #5: Hypnosis Only works on Weak-Minded People

Hypnosis has nothing to do with your intelligence or willpower. If you can follow simple directions and focus your attention, you can be hypnotized. In fact, the opposite might be true. Some studies have shown that people with higher IQs tend to be more responsive to hypnosis.

Hypnosis Myth #6: hypnosis won’t work if I don’t remember it

It depends on the type and depth of hypnosis you experience. Some people may have a clear recollection of everything that occurred, while others may have partial or no memory at all. This is normal and does not affect the effectiveness of hypnosis.

Hypnosis Myth #7: hypnosis will fix Any Problem

Hypnosis can be a powerful tool for personal growth and improvement, but it is not a magic wand that can solve any issue by itself. When combined with other methods, such as coaching, NLP, therapy, or self-help techniques you will get more lasting results. Hypnosis will help you access your inner resources, but you still have to take action and responsibility for your own success.

You can achieve lasting and profound results with the use of hypnosis, quickly and easily. As long as you know how safe it is, and you’re ready for a change. Enjoy hypnosis!
